Opinion: sOMEThING by YoYoAddict ANGLAM CC

I tried the ANGLAM when Hiroyuki came for AP in 2012, I love it, the one I tried was a b-grade apparently, but it just felt so nice, and I didn't know it was gonna be such a high-end yoyo at that time.

This write-up is long overdue but I'm still gonna write it. Video and then more photos first.

So players were asking what's the difference? which is better? and stuffs.
So here's the comparison between the two, and it really depends on what you like in regards to which is better. When I first got the ANGLAM Ver CC, I got reminded of the Superfly, the shape's modified to a more hourglass shape, or what REWIND call the invert round shape. So check out the difference first.

The ANGLAM Ver CC comes in a very nice minimalistic looking packaging, I like, I dig packagings.
When I first tried the prototype, it felt totally different from the ANGLAM I tried at AP2012, it was pretty solid, my impression of the ANGLAM was kind of floaty, much like the ANGLE, but more solid. The final production that I got is much less solid, it's still solid compared to the ANGLAM, but more floaty than the prototype Ver CC I tried, so I preferred the final run than the prototype tobe honest. I remember feeling that the prototype was ligher than the ANGLAM, but it was supposed to be heavier, but as I play, now I feel it's slightly heavier than the ANGLAM. The Ver CC has a very nice feel, which I totally like, it's using sOMEThING's own concave bearing, and provides a very long smooth spin. The stability is there even though it feels kind of floaty. I notice I've been talking a lot about floaty and solid while comparing it to both the ANGLAM and the prototype Ver CC, so now I'm just compare it to the ANGLAM.

It's less floaty and more solid than the ANGLAM. The bind is just nice I would say, I don't know about you guys, but I have issue doing regens with some solid yoyos, one of which is the Sleipnir, but the Ver CC makes it comfortable to be doing regens. No doubt it handles everything I threw at it, horizontals are proven possible through the video by Christopher. Finger test, no vibe, string hold, no vibe, real smooth and fast within fusion tricks, and definitely comfortable in the palm.

Which is better? The ANGLAM or the Ver CC?

Me, personally, I actually prefer the feel of the ANGLAM, but I dig both yoyos really.
I wouldn't really say the ANGLAM is better, but I feel that it's more floaty and I love that, I'm not sure if anyone agrees with me that the ANGLAM is floaty, but it sure does in my opinion, at least the one I tried, so I'ma go with the ANGLAM if you have to make me choose. But it's all personal preference.

Yoyofactory Ricochet

Unlike the Catch-22, the Ricochet is a full Ti yoyo and according to Yoyonews.com, it's gonna be around $200-230. start saving now.

Opinion: YoYoSkeel Satisfaction

I got the YoYoSkeel Satisfaction in Sept of 2012, and I'm really sorry to only write about it now, especially to Shakeel. Y'all know it's due to school work.

Anyway, video first and then more photos.

It's normal that people compared the Satisfaction to the Sleipnir because of the shape, so the last three photos are for the benefit of those who wants a side by side comparison, I happen to have a Sleipnir so yea, but I personally would say it reminds me more of the YoYoJoker Double Joker than the Sleipnir though. So like most new YoYoSkeel yoyos, the Satisfaction comes in a nice packaging, I like it.

I would say the Satisfaction is my second favorite yoyo from YoYoSkeel, the first is Stalker 2. I'm not so much of a fan of the Sense, but it's just personal preference.

In this write-up, I'll point out the usual things first like the bearing that may be a concerned to most players, and mentioned in both the Stalker 2 and Sense write-up. The bearing's life-span could be an issue. Second, would be the step on the wall area, but that's more to my own concern, this really depends on the player himself/herself. Stability of the yoyo is great, smoothness is great, and definitely provide really long spin unless the bearing locks. Now I would say that even if the bearing locks, it depends on how bad the condition is, so far what I've experience(YoYoSkeel Sense) is the yoyo becoming responsive and may snap back during a laceration and stuff, but may still provide you long spin. But you could change to a bearing of your choice though, which I bet may players does now.

With all that said, I don't have bearing issue with the Satisfaction, it's running smoothly, finger test no vibe, string hold test no vibe either, fast on the string, and horizontal is not a issue. It handles everything I threw at it, lacerations, flops are nice, grinds are alright, the catch zone was good, and it feels pretty nice in the palm too, it's not too sharp, not too edgy, personally I would like this yoyo more if not for the step, but this is really pretty subjective, it's personal preference.

Opinion: YONITY Feng

YONITY Feng. Now even though I suck at off string, I really dig offstring yoyos, and ever since I got the Kung, I've been looking forward to the YONITY Feng. A video of Sean Hung trying the Feng before we move on to more photos!

The Feng from YONITY that I got comes in a regular brown box unlike the Kung that came in another form of box packaging. Material used is delrin, pretty obvious, and it seems that the Feng is the first in YONITY's line to use the titanium Ali Axle, it's the same axle that was used in previous YONITY yoyos, but this is refined and improved. The bearing that came with it is a high quality stainless steel flat bearing. Note that at one point of time this yoyo fell into a drain in the rainy day, the bearing was freezed, but it was kinda fixed and playable again. What I did was not cleaning the bearing any further in lighter fluid or mineral spirit, BUT instead, I hover the bearing over the flame, and later lube it after it cool down. And then it start to work normal again, I'm not sure if this will damage the bearing in any way, but this is the method I used just for your info, and it's still running fine until now.

Now to the yoyo. I like the Kung alot, now I like the Feng even more, it's wider, and the dropping sound didn't sound as scary as the Kung like I mentioned. It feels comfortable in the hand, catch zone is nice and wide, shape is nice, for me. And yes, it provided long spin before the bearing freezed, and STILL provide long spin now after the bearing is fixed. NOTE it's the same exact bearing, I didn't replace the bearing at all. The weird thing about this yoyo is the rim shape, it looks like a 1A yo-yo with extended wings, take a closer look at the profile view and you'll see there's like a inner rim protruding out, I don't know if it serve any purpose or meant for any grinding, but it does make the yoyo feels pretty solid and nice to play with. The yoyo is also very stable, despite multiple dropping and abuse, there isn't any vibes. Bounce is pretty high too, and the response is pretty tight in my opinion. Horizontal as you can see from the videos doesn't seems like a issue at all. Look at all that regens and string whips that's being done in the video!

Now as far as I've seen from YONITY, they hardly reproduce their yo-yos, but for the Feng, YONITY is set to produce a second batch, as of now, the only thing that's confirmed is that the axle will be further improved. It'll be expected to be around 70-80USD, I'd say you can't go wrong with this one.

When I first saw the Shift Change, it immediately reminds me of the YONITY Feng that I'll soon write my opinion on, visually it looks like a 1A yoyo with extended wings.

Opinion: YoYoSkeel Sense

It's been too long, sorry for the long wait, finally settle down to write my opinion on this yoyo, I'll be on  break for approximately 2 months from school, so hopefully I get all videos and write-ups done by then. So here goes. A video and photos of the YoYoSkeel Sense.

Similar to the YoYoSkeel Stalker 2, the Sense should come installed with a China Produced 10-ball Concave bearing, and YoYoSkeel's own silicone pad. Unlike the Stalker 2 which has a relatively removable bearing, the Sense, or at least the one I have, has quite a tight bearing seat, the removal of bearing need some effort.

So the Sense, I would say it's really stable, at 69g, it doesn't really feel heavy, and still perform fast on the string. Pretty rim weighted, stable, and vibe-free during string hold, string play and finger test.
This thing handles everything I threw at it, unfortunately I still can't do a single horizontal trick, but from the video you can see that it's no problem, WeiXuan did it.
The yoyo didn't appeal to me at first due to the ridge around the inner rim/catch zone area, but it definitely didn't affect the play, however, the step area on the wall, like mentioned in the opinion entry on the Stalker 2, is a issue for me, it hits the string especially during front style, it could be a personal issue, but I would suggest player try out before making a judgement on this, but I would definitely like it better without that step. Another issue is the lifespan of the bearing, which is also being mentioned in the opinion entry on the Stalker 2, it kind of screwed up after filming of promo, the yoyo's not dinged or damaged in any way, it's probably just the bearing. Now I'm not sure if the later batch are still using the China produced concave bearing, but the bearing on my Stalker 2 and Satisfaction does not have this issue yet, but it's best to install a bearing of your choice, I would say.

Overall, if the step on the wall is not an issue for you, I would say give this yoyo a try, it's really smooth on the string(until the bearing screw up), and stable no doubt, provides long spins, and definitely a competing worthy yoyo.

There was a write-up about it here, but I'll add a little more here base on the day we filmed, both players find it hard to loop, they're both great 2A players by the way. The yoyo was slippy, it wasn't responsive enough, when WeiXuan tried it at my house, the spin was quite strong to sustain a wrap combo, but on the shooting day itself, it's not, somehow. Tighten the gap on a double loop around the bearing and it's too responsive, widen the gap and it's hard to loop. This video isn't really a promo, but rather let you see/gauge how it plays, there're misses and scenes of tuning the yoyo gap, hope it helps.

In anyway, Lin Kai said that it will be improved though.

After EYYC 2013 Vashek with SLUSNY van left Igor with Evgeniy in Budapest because of misunderstanding. But luckily all these 3 members of Yoyofactory team met again few days after in SLUSNY yoyo shop in Prague and were able to film at least some of their tricks.
Vashek is very very sorry about this mistake and edited this video (+couple of books) as an apology to Igor "Hulio" Galiev and Evgeniy "megahipster" Kochergin.
