Crescent XTornado
First of all, pardon the dirty background of the photo, I don't have a proper box to take a nice picture of for a very long time, I haven't been receiving any testers since I became busy and inactive, I'm grateful to those who still send me and who still give me news. Lately if any of you still visits this blog, you'll see it's been updated a little bit more often than usual. That's because I've got some time on my hands for a short period of time, but it won't be for long though.
So this yoyo is from Taiwan, from the maker that produced the weight rings for the Adegle PSG,LORI, now they're making yoyos under a different name, Crescent. Click here to check out the weight rings they did, I posted about it when I was still blogging else where.
I received the yoyo along with extra pairs of response pads, one 1.00mm thickness, the other 1.15mm thickness, the one that came with it was 1.00mm.
It also comes with a KK bearing, it's not from Dif-e-Yo though, but I was told it's gonna be replace with a different KK in their next release, a better one as they would put it.
Now, I'm not one who is good at sustaining a long spin while doing combos, but this yoyo can easily sustain very long in my playing. I'm not exactly a fan of the sharp edge but to my surprise it was still comfortable in the palm. Kai Cheng told me he knows the issue about having sharp edges but he insisted on it because this is his first yoyo and he wants it his way, but it'll be improved further in the next release, which I think would probably be under a different name, released as a different yoyo.
I won't lie, when I saw the sharp edge I was a little turned off, but when I put on a string and play it I'm surprised, it's not what I thought it would be. Stocked, it's really really smooth, very long spinning like I mentioned earlier, no wobble, no vibes, I really enjoyed playing it, finger spins are possible too. I still suck at horizontal, but I'm sure it can handle that pretty well too, I'm assuming that by looking at the shape okay, that's me.
I've yet to replace any pads, I'm not sure how the 1.15mm pads would feel on the yoyo, but 1.00mm gives pretty tight binds, I suppose the 1.15mm will give you even tighter or slightly snaggy feeling? maybe not if I just replace one side. I'll update if I eventually play long enough to change it, and if I actually remember and have time to update the blog again. I'm not sure if there'll be a promo video like how I used to do for other yoyos, time and players are limited, but I'll try to work something out. Share your opinion of this yoyo in the comment section if you've tried one before, try the yoyo if you want to when you see me. I'm already looking forward to see the next release.

YONITY Jei MK2
Diameter: 56mm
Width: 43.8mm
Weight: 67.4 / 67.2g
String Gap: 5mm
First of all I want to point out this little etched part you see over here that appears like a defect is not actually a defect in the laser engrave, it's actually the YONITY logo within the Jei logo.
And below are 2 macro shot of the bearing seat and the axle as the axle is actually their selling point, but because the Jei MK2 I've got appears to be one of the first few produced, like a pre-launch or something, that may be the reason why the axle is different from the one that you may see on the YONITY site.
I've always look forward to new products from YONITY, the Dao was the first I got from Jex, and then the pre-pro Jei and a couple other yoyos after, each one shows improvement, they may or may not be what everyone wants but I personally like those yoyos. So when I know I'll be receiving a Jei MK2 I was pretty excited.
The Jei MK2 when I first got it came with new pads which were a little too "responsive" for my liking, a little snaggy, but after a few playing session, the pads worn down a little, that's when I really start to enjoy playing with it. Even though with the worn out pads, it still provides a very tight bind, and very smooth, fast and stable on the string. I have to point out that the one I got from Jex is according to him, "the first few pieces of his own", which I interpret as pre-production, or what some might just call a b-grade, so the ali-axle may be different from production versions, as you can see from the picture I provided and the pictures from the YONITY website. I've not try the production version, I'm not sure of the difference in play if any. But judging on mine, it's pretty stable, smooth, may feel a little bit of vibe feel during play, but it affects nothing, and of course handles everything I threw at it. I would say those who tried it think it's fairly good. I'm not sure how big of a difference would the one with weight rings play, but I'm guessing not much except of a more different feel. I would definitely suggest trying it! Check out the video of the YONITY Jei MK2 featuring Hafiq.

Opinion: YONITY Feng
YONITY Feng. Now even though I suck at off string, I really dig offstring yoyos, and ever since I got the Kung, I've been looking forward to the YONITY Feng. A video of Sean Hung trying the Feng before we move on to more photos!
diameter: 75mm
width: 58.42mm
weight: 76.8g
The Feng from YONITY that I got comes in a regular brown box unlike the Kung that came in another form of box packaging. Material used is delrin, pretty obvious, and it seems that the Feng is the first in YONITY's line to use the titanium Ali Axle, it's the same axle that was used in previous YONITY yoyos, but this is refined and improved. The bearing that came with it is a high quality stainless steel flat bearing. Note that at one point of time this yoyo fell into a drain in the rainy day, the bearing was freezed, but it was kinda fixed and playable again. What I did was not cleaning the bearing any further in lighter fluid or mineral spirit, BUT instead, I hover the bearing over the flame, and later lube it after it cool down. And then it start to work normal again, I'm not sure if this will damage the bearing in any way, but this is the method I used just for your info, and it's still running fine until now.
Now to the yoyo. I like the Kung alot, now I like the Feng even more, it's wider, and the dropping sound didn't sound as scary as the Kung like I mentioned. It feels comfortable in the hand, catch zone is nice and wide, shape is nice, for me. And yes, it provided long spin before the bearing freezed, and STILL provide long spin now after the bearing is fixed. NOTE it's the same exact bearing, I didn't replace the bearing at all. The weird thing about this yoyo is the rim shape, it looks like a 1A yo-yo with extended wings, take a closer look at the profile view and you'll see there's like a inner rim protruding out, I don't know if it serve any purpose or meant for any grinding, but it does make the yoyo feels pretty solid and nice to play with. The yoyo is also very stable, despite multiple dropping and abuse, there isn't any vibes. Bounce is pretty high too, and the response is pretty tight in my opinion. Horizontal as you can see from the videos doesn't seems like a issue at all. Look at all that regens and string whips that's being done in the video!
Now as far as I've seen from YONITY, they hardly reproduce their yo-yos, but for the Feng, YONITY is set to produce a second batch, as of now, the only thing that's confirmed is that the axle will be further improved. It'll be expected to be around 70-80USD, I'd say you can't go wrong with this one.
Share your opinions on the Feng for the benefit of those who may be interested in getting one!
